Which Metricool plan should an agency buy?

Workspace for planning social media content across client brands

One brand: the Free plan may be enough to evaluate planning and basic analytics, subject to the free plan’s posting and connection limits. A free account is not equivalent to a full agency workflow.

Two to five brands: Starter 5 may be the economical option for a solo operator managing several accounts. Compare how many brands you actually need before buying the larger Starter bundle.

Six to ten brands: Starter 10 increases portfolio capacity. It does not automatically provide the Advanced team-and-client approval workflow. If clients must review posts before publishing, compare Advanced instead of deciding by brand count alone.

Eleven to fifteen brands: Advanced 15 introduces the collaboration functions that distinguish an agency-ready setup: client management, roles, post approval, reporting customization and available integrations.

Sixteen to fifty brands: compare Advanced 25 and Advanced 50, considering unused brand capacity, your expected client growth and the total monthly commitment. Beyond the standard bundles, contact Metricool about Custom.

Starter vs Advanced: the differences that matter

Starter primarily adds brand capacity, more publishing and reporting functionality beyond Free. Advanced is designed for operations where several people or clients collaborate on content. Metricool documents team and client management, role management, post approvals and API access under Advanced or higher.

If you publish everything yourself, paying for Advanced just to gain roles may be unnecessary. If an agency needs client sign-off or multiple collaborators, evaluating Advanced is more useful than comparing only the cost per brand.

Important: Advanced collaboration is not the same thing as an automatically included white-label resale license. Metricool describes customized white-label options under Custom; confirm any reseller rights directly with the provider.

Additional costs: X/Twitter and advanced analytics

The base subscription may not be the full cost. Metricool’s help documentation lists an X/Twitter add-on, charged per connected X account, and an Advanced Analytics add-on charged at account level. The documentation currently lists X/Twitter at $10 per month per connected account, Advanced Analytics from $12 per month on Starter and from $36 per month on Advanced, depending on billing conditions.

Before subscribing, count the X accounts you need, confirm whether advanced analytics is essential and check the effective billing cycle for add-ons. Also consider whether your agency requires approval workflows, custom reporting or API integrations: those can determine the necessary base plan more than raw brand count.

What Metricool does not automatically replace

Metricool centers on social publishing, analytics, scheduling and related workflows. It should not be presented as a substitute for an agency’s entire CRM, billing system, sales pipeline or client-request platform. An agency may reasonably need separate software for those jobs.

Choose Metricool if managing social channels, reports and approvals is the primary problem. Consider a broader operations platform when your main requirement is invoicing, recurring service subscriptions or a full customer relationship management system.

How we evaluated the plans

Agency Stack Atlas compared the public Metricool pricing information and help documentation, distinguishing subscription tiers, number of brands, collaboration features and separately billed add-ons. The pricing snapshot is a published September 2026 reference; we have not claimed to run an independent paid-plan performance test or to negotiate a special discount.

Frequently asked questions

Is Metricool free?

Yes. Free supports one brand with limitations, including up to 20 scheduled posts per month and restricted analytics history. It is suitable for a basic evaluation, not every agency workflow.

How much is Metricool for five brands?

The September 2026 USD reference lists Starter for up to five brands at $25 billed monthly or a $20 monthly equivalent when billed annually. Confirm the current vendor price before purchasing.

Do I need Advanced for client approvals?

Metricool documents post approvals and team/client roles within Advanced. Agencies requiring formal approval workflows should compare Advanced before choosing Starter.

Are X/Twitter accounts included?

An X/Twitter add-on may incur a separate per-account charge. Check the number of connected X accounts and the current billing terms.

Does Metricool include full white-label resale rights?

Do not assume so. Customized white-label functionality is associated with Metricool’s Custom offering and requires confirmation with the vendor.
