THE QUICK ANSWER

The short answer: Choose based on the work you need to deliver: HighLevel is the more direct fit for agencies selling CRM, multi-channel follow-up and a managed SaaS-style service. Systeme.io has a compelling entry point for funnels, email, courses and separate client workspaces. Both now offer agency-related functionality; the real differences are plan limits, operations and resale conditions.

Actual monthly plan prices and extra charges

HighLevel publicly lists Starter at $97/month, Unlimited at $297/month and Agency Pro at $497/month. Starter includes three client sub-accounts; Unlimited removes that numeric cap; Agency Pro adds SaaS Mode and related resale automation. Communication, AI and other usage-based services can add charges beyond the subscription.

Systeme.io publicly lists Free at $0/month, Startup at $17/month, Webinar at $47/month and Unlimited at $97/month in its monthly pricing explanation. The plans vary in contacts, funnel/course capacity and access to certain features. A free workspace does not mean unlimited production resources.

Do not compare only the headline $97 plans. HighLevel Starter and Systeme.io Unlimited target different operating models, and agency resale or multi-client requirements can change the true cost.

Published USD subscription reference; check current checkout
Platform / plan Monthly base Primary decision point

Systeme.io Startup $17 Higher entry-level resource limits
Systeme.io Webinar $47 Webinar capabilities and higher capacity

Cost examples for one, five or twenty clients

These examples compare the minimum platform subscription tier associated with the required number of HighLevel client accounts; they are not quotes for messaging, AI, setup, external services or taxes. Systeme.io cannot be reduced to one universal per-client bill because each sub-account retains its own plan limits and white-label paid resale has separate rules.

Illustrative base subscription scenarios, not total cost
Clients HighLevel base approach HighLevel monthly base Systeme.io agency approach
1 Starter (up to 3 sub-accounts) $97 Start with Free or a paid plan depending on each account’s resource needs
5 Unlimited (unlimited sub-accounts) $297 Create separate sub-accounts; confirm each account’s resource limits and cost
20 Unlimited for agency-managed accounts; Pro if SaaS Mode is necessary $297 or $497 Model actual per-client plan mix and confirm resale eligibility/terms

For example, a five-client agency needing call tracking, two-way SMS and centralized CRM follow-up has different operational requirements from one delivering five email funnels. The former should evaluate HighLevel’s conversations and phone billing; the latter should first investigate Systeme.io’s per-account limits and account management.

Agency sub-accounts: a commonly outdated comparison

Some older comparison pages claim that Systeme.io lacks sub-accounts. That statement is no longer reliable. Systeme.io officially documents agency sub-accounts, including access on the Free plan. Each sub-account still has the limits and resources of its own subscription; “unlimited sub-accounts” must not be read as unlimited contacts, funnels or paid resale rights.

HighLevel also supports client-specific sub-accounts. Its published Starter limit is three; Unlimited and Agency Pro list unlimited client sub-accounts. The practical differentiators are what an agency can configure inside each account, how it handles customer conversations, permissions and provisioning, and which services it expects to sell.

Before migrating clients, check account ownership, client-level roles, shared assets, handoff permissions and whether each customer needs a distinct subscription.

White-label branding is not the same as selling software subscriptions

Both providers now have white-label-related capabilities. But there are three separate questions: can you add your agency branding, can you operate multiple client accounts, and can you sell paid software subscriptions under your own brand? A yes to one does not guarantee a yes to all three.

For Systeme.io, official help describes a white-label reseller dashboard and branded user experience. On the Free plan, resellers can offer free white-label accounts but cannot sell paid plans without an eligible upgrade. Resold plan prices cannot be below Systeme.io’s official prices in the corresponding currency. Confirm the current reseller pricing and eligibility directly with Systeme.io.

For HighLevel, Agency Pro explicitly includes SaaS Mode and automated sub-account creation. Agencies evaluating resale should account for the $497/month base, configuration, billing integrations, support and usage charges before setting client-facing package prices.

White-label and SaaS resale are different purchasing decisions
Resale question HighLevel Systeme.io
Multiple client accounts Yes; plan limits differ Yes; individual account limits apply
Custom brand experience Agency branding features depend on plan and channel Documented white-label reseller setup
Paid-plan resale SaaS Mode on Agency Pro Separate reseller access; Free reseller cannot sell paid accounts
Automatic billing / provisioning Agency Pro advertises automated SaaS provisioning Check reseller dashboard, upgrades, payment/checkout configuration and current terms

If you sell software rather than just services, verify both reseller programs before committing.

CRM, SMS, phone and appointment workflows

HighLevel’s central proposition is an agency-focused sales and communications workflow: pipelines, bookings, two-way messaging, call handling and follow-up automation. The exact cost depends in part on actual messaging, calling and AI consumption. “Unlimited sub-accounts” does not mean unlimited free communications.

Systeme.io includes CRM pipeline tools and automation alongside email marketing and funnels. It may be enough for a business collecting leads through a funnel and nurturing them by email. If your agency depends on managed client inboxes, inbound phone calls, automated SMS, reputation management or specialized reporting, verify each requirement rather than assuming the two products are identical.

Funnels, email marketing, courses and content

Systeme.io bundles funnel construction, email campaigns, online courses, communities and affiliate management. Its Free and low-cost plans are especially relevant when one creator or small agency wants an integrated path from content or ad to signup to course purchase.

HighLevel also offers website and funnel builders, email/SMS workflows, courses and communities, but an agency may choose it primarily for client operations and recurring service management. Compare your required feature depth and team workflow, not just whether a checklist contains the word “funnels”.

Migration, integrations and implementation

Migrating a business involves more than copying pages. List your existing domains, forms, tags, contacts, email sequences, payment connections, booking links, tracking pixels, courses and client roles. Test one real workflow end to end in the new platform before moving the rest.

For agencies, also document who owns each client account and data set, which staff members need access, how reporting is delivered, and the billing arrangement if you sell subscriptions. Back up exportable data and confirm what can or cannot be imported into the destination.

Which platform should you choose?

Choose HighLevel when your main revenue comes from delivering lead capture, CRM, follow-up, bookings, conversational channels and potentially resold agency software across multiple clients. Unlimited and Agency Pro become more relevant as the operation and billing model grow.

Choose Systeme.io when a lower-cost entry point, funnels, email, courses and account separation are central to the workflow. This can suit creators and agencies managing simpler campaigns, but paid white-label resale needs additional checks.

Choose neither by default if a specialized helpdesk, enterprise sales CRM or dedicated client-approval tool is your actual priority. Start with the job to be done; subscription price is one of several decision criteria.

Frequently asked questions

Does Systeme.io have agency sub-accounts?

Yes. Its official documentation describes agency sub-accounts, including on Free. Individual subscription resources and limits still apply.

Is Systeme.io white-label software resale free?

No blanket claim is appropriate. Free resellers can offer free accounts, but paid resale requires an eligible upgrade and adherence to the vendor’s minimum pricing terms.

How many clients can I manage on HighLevel Starter?

The current public Starter pricing page states three sub-accounts. Unlimited and Agency Pro list unlimited sub-accounts; usage charges and other limits still apply.

Which is cheaper for five agency clients?

HighLevel lists Unlimited at $297/month before usage. Systeme.io account costs depend on resources, each account’s subscription and any paid resale arrangement; there is no universal fixed total for five clients.

Can I transfer my existing campaigns automatically?

Do not assume complete automation. Check exports, imports, payment integrations, domains, funnels and contact permissions before migrating.
